The current system often favors the profitability of long-term treatments over the profound benefits of one-time cures, leaving countless individuals to endure prolonged suffering and placing an unsustainable burden on our healthcare system.
We call for the creation and enactment of a new law that will:
- Compensate pharmaceutical companies fairly for developing cures based on the long-term value and cost savings these cures provide to patients and the healthcare system.
- Establish a government agency, designated by the HHA, to conduct thorough analyses of the lifetime healthcare costs of diseases and the potential savings offered by cures.
- Mandate that insurance companies and Medicare reimburse a determined percentage of these long-term cost savings to pharmaceutical companies upon the approval of a cure.
